The exhibition is a collective, displaying the works of two Icelandic contemporary photographers, Marta Margrét Rúnarsdóttir and Jónas Haraldsson. The photographers mindfully explore abstract details of nature and urbanscapes, using perspective, shapes and light to transform the world we see into unexpected, at times unrecognisable images.
The photographs isolate fragments of a natural and urban scene in order to remove its inherent context from the viewer - drawing away from that which is realistic or literal; from natural appearances and recognizable subjects in the actual world. By departing from true meaning, existence, and reality itself, it allows the viewer to let his mind and imagination wander.
With its purpose depending on the conceptual meaning and instricic form, it stands apart from the concrete whole: with the purpose for the viewer to ask: "What is it?"….
The artists focus on the concept of change as the inevitable constant, as observed by the Ancient Greek philosopher Heraclitus that the natural world was in a constant state of movement.
Marta Margrét
is an Icelandic photographer and multi disciplinary artist residing in Brussels. Marta's photographic work focuses mostly on the abstract and the minimal, the beauty of shape and the poetry of visuals. With her perspective on photography, the realistic identity fades with imagination meeting reality. A published and awarded artist, her photographic work has been exhibited in the USA, Italy, Belgium, Portugal, Germany, France and the Nordics.

Jónas Haraldsson
is an Icelandic photographer, a musician and a diplomat. Having lived in various countries a large part of his life, it has influenced greatly his expression in both photoagraphy and music. In his creations, he distills this feeling of "elsewhere" to simple and sometimes abstract shapes, bringing the elsewhere closer and at times, turning familiar places into unknown spaces.
